Middle elementary kids are starting to feel more independent. It’s an exciting time of life when a child’s spiritual development is maturing. By now, children who have been taught the Bible have a lot of faith vocabulary and are familiar with much of the Scriptural narrative. They have also absorbed more theology than most of us would realize about God, Christ, man, sin, faith, and more.

Middle elementary kids are growing in their ability to reason and discover, discuss ideas, compare and contrast, and analyze. Our curriculum helps them discover important biblical truths as they do, make, figure out, look up, respond, and listen.

Middle elementary kids are also experiencing the church at work: worship, sacraments, and the fellowship of a caring community of believers reaching out to others and the world. They are processing what they have been taught and observed. They are coming to understand more about Christianity and, by God's grace, owning the faith as their own.

Students this age will learn as the Holy Spirit works in their minds and hearts:

• What it means to worship God.
• How they are to live before God: the Ten Commandments.
• What is a Christian?
• How does their faith and the gospel relate to the world they live in?
• How do they tell others about Christ
• Trusting God: How great is God and what is his goodness?
