In G2R God’s Promises, young teens will discover God’s covenant of grace. Did you know that there’s a scarlet thread woven through the whole Bible? Those 66 books written over thousands of years by many different men are telling THE story of God’s redemption through Christ! The thread that ties it together can be called the covenant of grace. God made promises to the very first people he created, and he made more wonderful promises to his people through history. And he has kept every single one of them.

As our preteens and teens transition from childhood to adulthood, it’s essential that they “grow up into salvation” (1 Pet. 2:2). How can we help them mature in their faith? By this age and by God’s grace, they are embracing the truths of the gospel and growing in their love for and trust in God, ready to go deeper in their relationship with him.

The truths of the covenant of grace are amazing, beautiful, and staggering. It’s incredible to realize that over thousands of years and in thousands of lives, God made and kept promises that led directly to Jesus Christ. And those covenant promises have implications for our lives today! In this age of broken promises and loneliness, think how wonderful it will be for our teens to be reassured that God is trustworthy and that Jesus Christ is our Immanuel, God with us.
